Capture special moments in life by commissioning a painting. Photographs come and go, but paintings last generations.

  • Your inspiration

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to celebrate a special anniversary, or commemorate an achievement, or simply record a moment in time – whether that be through a portrait (people and pets), still life, or favourite building/landscape. All this can be discussed at the outset of a project and I can add in my perspective too, to help make for a great final painting that can be enjoyed for many years to come.

  • My process

I work primarily from photographic references and related materials, so in-person sittings aren’t usually required. See more here on what makes an ideal reference. The process can take 10-12 weeks, as I paint in oil in an ‘old masters’ style that requires multiple layers with drying time in between, but the final result gives oil paintings a glow that cannot otherwise be achieved. I usually paint on fine linen, board or aluminium, as best suits the project.

  • Your painting

I am happy to share with you key steps in the painting process as the project progresses – so you can see the work evolve. I can supply your painting unframed, or arrange framing for you. This is an important step in the process to help display your painting in the best way possible. From bespoke hand made frames with copper or gold gilding through to simple wood or floating frames - I can advise on options to suit your painting and budget.
